Pachamama Hotel

Image21_007_2.jpg
Project Description

Located in Alaçatı village, a popular summer holiday destination on the Aegean coast, Pachamama Hotel is inspired by Pachamama, the name South Americans give to nature. In our project, we aimed to offer our guests an experience in harmony with nature by combining the universal and local values of nature. By using ancient symbols, motifs and traditional production techniques, we wanted to remind people from all cultures that they belong to the same source.

Our design is a hybrid approach that brings together modern and traditional construction techniques. While reinforced concrete was used for the structure, non-toxic natural materials (clay, lime, wood, reed, natural stone and natural oils) were preferred for the finishes. Considering the local climatic conditions, the building form, orientation and openings were determined according to sunlight and the prevailing wind direction.
